MKE Week 18: Gain Access to America’s New Gilded Age

Tycoon. The word comes from Japan, where it means the equivalent of shogun. But long ago America confiscated the title. It was in the U.S. that tycoons became paragons of power and influence. American tycoons swung deals, not swords, and changed the business landscape forever.

The Gilded Age was the greatest era of tycoons. At the end of the nineteenth century, the Industrial Revolution was in full swing and every emerging market seemed to have at least one power broker ready to corner it. No antitrust laws stopped monopolies.

We’ve assembled a list of the nation’s great tycoons.

We know you are thinking, “What do they have in common with you?”

  • It isn’t higher education. Most of our choices never graduated from college, although five have their names on universities.
  • The two who went to Harvard dropped out. It isn’t technical preeminence. Astor never set a fur trap. Rockefeller never dug an oil well. Gates didn’t design his operating system.

Tycoons are set apart by their ability to change the world and their belief that the world should be theirs. American Tycoons | Cigar Aficionado Add an understanding of the Master Key System, a ravenous work ethic and you have a fair description of the men you should understand and follow to see what you have in commmon with them.

Men Like:

JAMES B. DUKE (1856-1925) THE DUKE OF TOBACCO: When he returned from the Civil War to his farm near Durham, North Carolina, he had 50 cents, two blind mules and some cured tobacco. Seeing the success of the Bull Durham brand of chewing tobacco, Duke determined that selling rather than growing tobacco held a better future.

HENRY FORD (1863-1947) AUTO PILOT: The eldest child of Irish immigrant farmers who settled near Dearborn, Michigan, Ford loved machinery and loathed farm work. He dropped out of school at age 15 and became an engineer. Ford struggled for many years to create a gas-powered car, succeeding in 1896, at age 32, when he drove his first gas-powered car, the Quadricycle, amidst little fanfare through downtown Detroit. Three years later, he built his second car, which caught the attention of several local businessmen. With their financial backing, Ford Motor Co. was launched in June 1903.

W.R. HEARST (1863-1951) PUBLISHING PRINCE: In 1897, when renewed hostilities between Spanish colonialists and Cuban rebels seeking independence threatened, publisher William Randolph Hearst wanted lavish headlines with which to sell newspapers.

RAY KROC (1902-1984) MAC DADDY: At the not-so-tender age of 52 that he had the brainstorm that would put the country on a fast-food diet. Kroc, a milkshake machine salesman, had noticed that one San Bernadino, California, restaurant ordered inordinate numbers of his product, so he went to see it for himself. What he found was the first McDonald’s, a drive-in offering quick, efficient and friendly service coupled with low prices and a carefully selected menu.

THOMAS WATSON JR. (1914-1993) COMPUTER MAGNATE: Never a good student, it took Watson six years and three schools to graduate from high school. Growing up in the shadow of his father’s success often left him feeling inadequate and lost. Watson went to Brown University where he excelled in drinking and carousing. He joined IBM as a salesman and the story goes on…

SAM WALTON (1918-1992) DIMESTORE COWBOY: When he finished a peripatetic hitch in the Army at the end of the Second World War, he had a college degree, some experience working at J.C. Penney’s, and a hankering to go into retail for himself. He was considering a deparment store in St. Louis when his wife, Helen, spoke up: “Sam, we’ve been married two years and we’ve moved 16 times. Now, I’ll go with you anyplace you want so long as you don’t ask me to live in a big city.” Mrs. Walton’s dictum would aptly define the Wal-Mart retailing empire to come: a chain of discount stores set up in small towns with little competition and low overhead. By following it, Mr. Sam would come from nowhere to be the richest man in America by 1985.

TED TURNER (1938- ) MEDIA MAVERICK: In 1963, Ed Turner committed suicide. Few expected Ed’s playboy son, then 24, to take over. But Turner expanded the business, buying ailing radio stations and promoting them with his billboards. In the early 1970s, he bought two bankrupt UHF TV stations, investments so controversial that his accountant quit. But behind his impulsiveness was a gift for seeing potential in overlooked properties.

BILL GATES (1955- ) SOFTWARE POKER: William H. Gates III had business on his mind right from the beginning. At the ripe old age of 10, he wrote a $5 contract giving him unlimited access to his older sister’s baseball mitt. In 1980, Gates inked a far shrewder deal, licensing a disk operating system to IBM Corp. for its new personal computer. The move gave Gates’s young Microsoft Corp. revenues from every computer sold with that system and created a pair of juggernauts–Microsoft has revenues of $19.7 billion, Find yourself wondering how much money does Bill Gates have? The answer is an astounding $96.5 billion.

These men brought their SIMPLE ideas to life and created prosperity doing what they loved using the Principles of the Master Key System

Access the Power Carnegie, Rockefeller, Morgan, Buffett, or Gates and…

Anyone who has taken a look back into American History can remember Andrew Carnegie, John D. Rockefeller, and James Pierpont Morgan, and other American business moguls like Warren Buffett or Bill Gates.

Americans were able to see a new level of wealth that truly painted a grandiose picture for the American Dream.

Andrew Carnegie came from humble beginning is Scotland. He moved to America as a young adult and started working in the textile industry, quickly being promoted. He found his real success when he joined the growing railroad industry and began making wise investments that proved to be extremely helpful in building his career.

In the Master Key System, we were asked to look at a battleship and visualize its creation from its very beginning to its completion.

I wanted to take Master Key System exercise farther.  I wanted to think about becoming an Andrew Carnegie. John D. Rockefeller, James Pierpont Morgan, or other American business or financial moguls. I wanted to look at these men and visualize their business or wealth creation from its very beginning to its acquisition and contributions to themselves and America.

  • Andrew Carnegie, (born November 25, 1835, Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland—died August 11, 1919, Lenox, Massachusetts, U.S.), Scottish-born American industrialist who led the enormous expansion of the American steel industry in the late 19th century. He was also one of the most important philanthropists of his era. He is renowned for having been one of the wealthiest men ever to live and one of the most generous philanthropists in American history. His story is a true rags-to-riches tale.
  • John Davison Rockefeller Sr. (July 8, 1839 – May 23, 1937) was an American business magnate and philanthropist. He is widely considered the wealthiest American of all time and the richest person in modern history. Rockefeller was born into a large family in upstate New York that moved several times before eventually settling in Cleveland, Ohio.  He was an American industrialist and philanthropist, founder of the Standard Oil Company, which dominated the oil industry and was the first great U.S. business trust.
  • John Pierpont Morgan (April 17, 1837 – March 31, 1913) was an American financier and banker who dominated corporate finance on Wall Street throughout the Gilded Age. As the head of the banking firm that ultimately became known as J.P. Morgan and Co., he was a driving force behind the wave of industrial consolidation in the United States spanning the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
  • Warren Edward Buffett born August 30, 1930) is an American investor, business tycoon, philanthropist, and the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. He is considered one of the most successful investors in the world and has a net worth of over US$85.6 billion as of December 2020, making him the world’s fourth-wealthiest person.
  • Bill Gates Gates: Born William Henry Gates III (1955-10-28) October 28, 1955 (age 65) Seattle, Washington, U.S. Education Harvard University (dropped out) Occupation Software developer investor entrepreneur Years active 1975–present Known for Co-founding Microsoft Net worth US$ 120.3 billion (December 25, 2020) Title Co- chairman and co-founder of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

A Wealth Creation Exercise:

[1]: How did those businessand wealth masters at create their wealth?

For your exercise this week concentrate as nearly as possible in accordance with the method outlined in this lesson; let there be no conscious effort or activity associated with your purpose. Relax completely, avoid any thought of anxiety as to results. Remember that power comes through repose. Let the thought dwell upon your object, until it is completely identified with it, until you are conscious of nothing else.

  • If you wish to eliminate poverty, concentrate on wealth.
  • If you wish to eliminate lack, concentrate on abundance.
  • Always concentrate on the ideal as an already existing fact; this is the germ cell,
the life principle which goes forth and sets in motion those causes which guide,
direct and bring about the necessary relation, which eventually manifest in form in your life.

Example:

Andrew Carnegie: The origin of United States Steel Corporation (U.S. Steel) is virtually an early history of the steel industry in the United States, which in turn is closely linked to the name of Andrew Carnegie. The quintessential 19th-century self-made man, Carnegie began as a bobbin boy in a cotton mill, made a stake in the railroad business, and, in 1864, started to invest in the iron industry.

J. P. Morgan: formed U.S. Steel on March 2, 1901 (incorporated on February 25) by financing the merger of Andrew Carnegie ‘s Carnegie Steel Company with Elbert H. Gary’s Federal Steel Company and William Henry “Judge” Moore ‘s National Steel Company for $492 million ($15.12 billion today). United States Steel Corporation, the largest company in the world at that time, controlling 200 subsidiaries and employing more than 168,000 people.

The Master Key System says that to get what you want in life simply requires a Definite Major Purpose, Positive Mental Attitude, Written Plan of Action, Master Mind Alliance, Knowledge and Application of the natural Laws. These things produce the results you want.

  • Did those 5 billionaires concentrate upon their Power to Creation?
  • Did they dwell on the fact that the Physical Man lives and moves on the Physical Plane?
  • Did they dwell on the fact that the Spiritual Man also lives and moves and has his being in a similar to Physical Man but subtler energy upon which he must depend for life?
  • Did they realize that in the Physical World no life assumes form until after a thought seed was sown?  That the higher their thought the higher results would be produced.
  • Did they realize that in the Spiritual World no effect can be produced until their thought seed was sown? The fruit from thought will depend upon the nature of their thought seed.
  • Did they realize that the results they secured in their lives depended upon their Perception and Application of Universal Law inthe mighty Domain of Causation? The highest evolution of human consciousness?
  • Did they realize that the Universal Laws dictate “the rules to the Game of Life” for all? They used Universal Laws and Laws of Mind to consciously create their wealth?

The Wealth Exercise Continues with a Meditation:

In Master Key System I was instructed to visualize wealth creation; to see the wealth to meditate on it.

How did their wealth come to them; how did it come into existence in the first place?   All of this I want to know as a careful observer.

In Master Key System I followed their great wealth creation process.

  • To go back to its very beginning in their mind
  • See their Definite Major Purpose
  • Feel their Positive Mental Attitude
  • See their Plan of action
  • See their Master Mind Alliances
  • See the thousands of investments in their wealth creation
  • See the money as it comes from their investments,
  • See it, see it properly banked
  • To go back still further
  • See the investors who planned the wealth
  • To let my thought carry my back still further in order to determine why and how they planned their investments.
  • Go far back to where their the investments are something intangible, when they no longer existed, when they were only thoughts existing in the brain of the 5 investors.
  • To see from where their ideas came to think about make the investments?

The men probably made their investments in their thought long before the investments were made.  Possibly there was opposition, and speeches for or against their investments.

They spend 15 minutes daily in the silence thinking how to do it. They focus only on these instructions and processes.

These men represent you and me in thinking of wealth creation.

Our line of thought and visualization begins with the assets of Andrew Carnegie. Then John D. Rockefeller, James Pierpont Morgan, or the other American business-investment moguls.

Their wealth ends with us because we now understand how they created their wealth.

Conclusion: We find in the last analysis that our own thoughts are responsible for this and many other things, of which we seldom think.

With a little further reflection will develop the most important fact of all. That is, if someone had not discovered the Power of Mind, the Universal Laws and Laws of Mind by which their tremendous wealth was made, their wealth would not have come into existence for them or us.

Universal Mind-The Mind of God

With understanding of Creation, we continually make progress in the methods which the men use to come into communication with the Universal Mind and its infinite possibilities.

The Universal Mind manifests through the Principle of Attraction.  It is by this Principle of Combining and Attracting that the 5 men’s investment were brought together.

This principle is of Universal application and is the sole means whereby wealth was created for them and will be created for you.

Master Key System part 18 tells us understanding the Universal Mind, the Universal Laws and the Laws of Human Mind will help us become CONSCIOUS CREATORS of our own reality because we are doing it through our thought, the Universal GOD Mind, the Universal Laws and the Laws of Human Mind.

Natural Laws

Master Key System part 18 tells us tells us CREATION is the recognition of Natural Laws that enables us to annihilate time and space, to soar in the air and to make iron float.

The greater the degree of our intelligence the greater will be our recognition of the Natural Laws and their Application.  The greater will be the Power we possess to create what we want.

The recognition of the self as an individualization of this Universal Intelligence enables us to control those forms of intelligence which have not yet reached this level of self-recognition.

Most people do not know that Universal Intelligence permeates all things ready to be called into action to create what they want.  Most people do not know that Universal Intelligence is responsive to their every Mental demand.  Most people are therefore in bondage to the Law of their own thinking.

Master Key System part 18 tells us Creative Mind and the Principle on which the Universal Law is based is sound and legitimate. It is inherent in the nature of things and the Laws of Mind.  This creative power does not originate in the Individual Mind, but in the Universal Mind.

Universal Mind and Substance is the source and foundation of all man’s energy and substance.  The individual is simply the channel for the distribution of this energy from the Universal Mind and Substance.

The individual is simply the means by which the Universal Mind produces the various combinations which result in the formation of man’s creations. Man thinks.  The Universal Mind produces. Man thinks he create but he only thinks to have Universal Mind produce.

Master Key System part 18 tells us everything in this Universe, including you, boils down to energy, frequencies, and vibrations. Within this Universe, there are Seven Major Universal Laws or Principles.  They explain how energy, frequencies, and vibrations “work” to create what you want. These Laws are:

  1.  The Law of Cause and Effect

Ralph Waldo Emerson called the Law of Cause and Effect, “the Law of Laws.” This Mental Law decrees that whatever you send into the Universe comes back. Action and re-action are equal and opposite.

Everything in the entire universe happens according to Law—there is no such thing as chance. Every effect must have a cause; and in turn, that cause must have an effect. Thus, we have the perpetual, never-ending cycle of cause and effect by the Law of Cause and Effect.

You are, of course, very interested in the effects in your life—your physical health, your relationships, the respect you earn, your income. You must concentrate on the CAUSE, and the EFFECT will automatically take care of itself. Say good things to everyone, treat everyone with respect, take care of your body and it will all come back. That is how the Law works.

  • The Law of Attraction or Vibration

To understand the Law of Attraction, let us first understand its underlying counterpart, the Law of Vibration. The Law of Vibration decrees that everything moves, or vibrates, nothing rests. Everything ever created, from the smallest atomic particle to the largest skyscraper, is in a constant state of energetic motion.

  •  Law of Vibration: Creation of certain results depends upon the Law of Vibration. Various rates of rapidity of motion in the primary substance form new substances.  Creation only in certain exact numerical ratios.

Thought is the invisible link by which the individual comes into communication with the Universal, the finite with the Infinite, the seen with the Unseen. Thought is the magic by which man is transformed into a being who thinks and knows and feels and acts?

Now, the thoughts you think and internalize (get emotionally involved with) are in control of the VIBRATION you are in. As you become conscious of this vibration, you refer to it as how you are “FEELING.”

There is a connection between your FEELINGS, what you ATTRACT to yourself, and the RESULTS you get in your life. The vibration, or feeling, you are in leads to the actions you take, and your actions create the results you experience in life.

When you understand the Law of Attraction, instead of allowing the outside world to dictate what you think and how you feel inside, you start to live from the inside out by choosing and focusing on thoughts that align with what you want. This causes changes in your vibrational field to attract or create the results you seek in life.

  • The Law of Perpetual Transmutation

This law explains that everything in the universe that we can see, hear, smell, taste, or touch, together with our emotions, is the manifestation of energy in various levels of vibration.

Energy is in a constant state of transmission and transmutation. Energy is the cause and effect of itself and can be neither created nor destroyed.

The Law of Perpetual Transmutation decrees that energy (the nonphysical level of life) is always moving into physical form.

Thoughts are energy; therefore, any idea or image that is held in the mind and properly nourished must move into its physical counterpart because the emotions are expressed through the body, and the body moves into action which produces the results.

This law explains the creative process. It also explains prayer. Prayer is the movement that takes place between spirit and form with and through you.

  • The Law of Rhythm

The Law of Rhythm embodies the truth that everything is moving to and for, flowing in and out, swinging backward and forward. It shows us that there is always a reaction to every action.

This law governs the movement of the planets in their orbit and also manifests in the mineral and vegetable kingdoms. It can be observed in the rising and setting of the sun and moon, ebb, and flow of the tides, coming and going of the seasons, and in the rhythmic swing of consciousness and unconsciousness.

You are not going to feel good all of the time; no one does. If you did, you would not even know it. The low feelings are what permit you to enjoy the high feelings.  When you are in a downswing, know the swing will change, and things will get better. Good times are coming—choose to think of them.

  • The Law of Relativity

In the study of this law, we find that all things are relative, including all laws.  All laws are related to each other and correspond with each other. Every law must be in harmony, agreement and correspond with each other. An understanding of the Law of Relativity will give you the means of solving many of the secrets of nature that seem paradoxical.

For example, all rates of vibration are either high or low, only by comparison with those above or below them. All sizes are relative too.  Recognize that everyone does something better than you and, likewise, you do something better than every person you meet.

When you relate something, you do that you are not proficient at, to something another person does that they have mastered, you will not look good. That is using the law against yourself. Instead, make a habit of using this law to your benefit—to heighten your self-esteem. You will then become aware of how special you are in the light of truth.

  • The Law of Polarity

The Law of Polarity decrees everything in the universe has its opposite: hot—cold… good—bad…inside—outside. You have a right and left side to your body, a front and back. Every up has a down, and every down has an up.

The Law of Polarity not only states that everything has an opposite … it is equal and opposite. If it were 3 feet from the floor up on to the table, it would be 3 feet from the table down to the floor; it could not be any other way.

Step into your power by realizing and applying the Law of Polarity. Start using your mental faculty—perception—to see both sides of a person, situation, or circumstance. You will be empowered and inspired.

Applying the Law of Polarity will help you move forward in the direction of your dreams because you will realize that everything in your life “just is” and you make it negative or positive by how you choose to think about the situation. It is your choices, not your circumstances, that will create the life you so desire.

7. The Law of Gender

The Law of Gender is, in truth, the Creative Law. This Law decrees that everything in nature is both male and female. Both are required for life to exist. The Law of Gender manifests in the animal kingdom as sex. It also manifests in the mineral and vegetable kingdoms.

Without the dual principle of male and female in all things, there could not be a difference of potential, a perpetuation of motion, nor regeneration. All new things merely result in the changing of something that was, into something else that now is—a caterpillar into a butterfly or a thought into physical reality.

Consciousness, or thought, is the masculine energy, whereas the life force that brings form to the thought in physical reality is the feminine energy.

Together, one experiences both the masculine and feminine energy, which is known as the creative process.

The Law of Gender also decrees that all seeds (ideas are spiritual seeds) have a gestation or incubation period before they manifest. In other words, when you choose a goal or build the image in your mind, a definite period of time must elapse before that image manifests in physical results.

For anything to grow, however, it requires energy. Plants require solar energy, for example.

Our thoughts and ideas thrive on the energy we give them. In fact, there is one way to shorten the incubation period needed for an idea to manifest into physical form — through concentration.

The concentration of thought relative to an idea increases more energy on that idea, bringing it more quickly into manifestation.

The Mind of Man

“The mind of man is capable of anything–because everything is in it, all the past as well as all the future. What was there after all? Joy, fear, sorrow, devotion, valor, rage–who can tell? ― Joseph Conrad, Heart of Darkness.  The Mind of Man is controlled by 7 Universal Laws of Mind.

Seven Laws of Man’s Mind

Master Key System part 18 tells us the Mind of Man and his thought is controlled by 7 Universal Laws of Mind.

They are:

  1. Law of Growth: Whatever we think about grows. What we forget atrophies.
  • Law of Dual Thought: Thought is a combination of ideation and feeling. We can attach any feeling to a thought we want.
  • Law of Subconscious: As soon as the subconscious accepts the idea it becomes a demand and it works constantly, 24-7, to manifest demand ~ accessing a reservoir of infinite resources.
  • Law of Substitution: We cannot think about 2 things at the same time. If a negative thought enters your mind ~ try to think about God instead. If that is too big a reach at the time, use any fond memory or other pleasant thought. Jesus, the Master Teacher, said, “Resist not evil” ~ meaning turn from it and think about something else instead.
  • Law of Relaxation: Mental effort defeats itself ~ exactly the opposite of physical effort. A relaxed, calm state of mind is the only doorway to progress mentally. Relaxation of thought is the only access to Infinite Intelligence.
  • Law of Practice: Practice makes perfect. The 5Ps – Perfect Practice Prevents Poor Performance. Our bewilderment of magnificence in others, upon further inspection, finds…as Wooden shares ‘you’ll find most of it is practice, the rest of it is work.’ With practice of the correct things, we improve ~ on the other 6 Laws of the Mind.
  • Law of Forgiveness: To access the Divine and connect the subconscious to the Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent Creator we must forgive everyone and anyone to clear the channel. There can be no connection to the Divine mind where anger or resentment against a brother or sister, justified or not, exists.

Master Key System part 18 tells us these Laws are as real as the law of physics. They dictate “the rules to the Game of Life” and how to consciously create the life we want in life.

These same Laws dictated “the Rules to the Game of Life” for Andrew Carnegie. John D. Rockefeller, James Pierpont Morgan, and other American business moguls. They used these Laws to consciously create the life and wealth they wanted.

They are the same Laws that dictate “the rules to your Game of Life”.

Power of World Thought

The Master Key System tells us there is a change in the thought of the world. This change is silently transpiring in our midst and is more important than any which the world has undergone since the downfall of Paganism.

Man’s Intelligence

Every living thing must be sustained by this omnipotent spiritual Intelligence.

We find the difference in individual lives is largely measured by the degree of this intelligence, which they manifest.

It is greater intelligence that places the animal in a higher scale of being than the plant and the man higher than the animal. We find that this increased intelligence is again indicated by the power of the individual to control modes of action and to consciously adjust himself to his environment.

It is well known that Universal Mind will obey us precisely in proportion as we first obey it and its Universal Laws.

Back to the 5 Tycoons and The Exercise

We find that on the mental plane like attracts like, that mental vibrations respond only to the extent of their vibratory harmony.

Thoughts of abundance will respond only to similar thoughts as they did for the 5 Tycoons.

Wealth of the individual is seen to be what he inherently is.  Affluence within is found to be the secret of attraction for affluence without.   The ability to produce is found to be the real source of wealth of the individual.

It is for this reason, that he who has his heart in his work is certain to meet with unbounded success. He will give and continually give; and the more he gives, the more he will receive. This is the Law of Compensation.

The great Tycoons, financiers of Wall Street, the captains of industry, the statesmen, the great corporation attorneys, the inventors, the physicians, the authors contribute to the sum of human happiness by the power of their thought.

Thought is the energy which the Law of Attraction is brought into operation, which eventually manifests in abundance.

How Thought Power Works

The Universal Mind is static Mind or Substance in equilibrium. It is differentiated into form by our power to think. Thought is the dynamic phase of mind. Power depends upon consciousness of power; unless we use it, we shall lose it, and unless we are conscious of it, we cannot use it.

The use of this power depends upon our attention; the degree of attention determines our capacity for the acquirement of knowledge which is another name for Power.

Attention has been held to be the distinguishing mark of genius. The cultivation of attention depends upon practice.  The incentive of attention is interest, the greater the interest, the greater the attention; the greater the attention, the greater the interest, action, and reaction.

The 5 Tycoons became Tycoons because they:

  • Begin by paying attention to what they wanted.
  • Before long, they aroused an interest in wealth.
  • This interest attracted more attention.
  • This attention produced more interest, and so on.
  • This practice enable them to cultivate the power of their attention
  • Power of their attention resulted in a manifestation of their wealth

You can Gain Access to America’s New Gilded Age by Following these 6 Step Success Formula

Step 1 – Determine the Exact Amount of Money You Want to Make on a Weekly Basis

Step 2 – Determine Exactly What You Intend to Give in Return for the Money You Desire

  1. Time?
  2. Friends?
  3. Family?
  4. Training?

Step 3 – Establish a definite date of when you intend to possess the money you desire

  1. A goal is just a dream with a deadline
  2. Block out time to critically think and plan out your small action steps

Step 4 – Create a definite written plan for carrying out your desire, and begin at once, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action.

Step 5 – Write out a clear, concise statement of the amount of money you intend to acquire, name the time limit for its acquisition, state what you intend to give in return for the money, and describe clearly the plan through which you intend to accumulate it.

Step 6 – Read your written statement aloud, twice daily, once just before retiring at night, and once after arising in the morning. AS YOU READ, SEE AND FEEL AND BELIEVE YOURSELF ALREADY IN POSSESSION OF THE MONEY.

I COMPLETED MY WEEK 18 MKE EXERCISES

In Week 18 I continued to concentrated upon my Power to Create my Definite Major Purpose, my Positive Mental attitude, my Writtten Plan of Action and my Master Mind Alliance.  I sought insight, perception. I tried to find a logical basis for my faith in my accomplishments.   I let my thought rest on the fact that the Spiritual man lives and moves and has his being an energy upon which he must depend for life and manifestation.

I let my thought rest on:

  •  The fact that in the physical world no life [thought-desire] assumes form until after a seed [thought-desire] is sown.   That no higher fruit [thought-desire] than that of my parent thought can be produced.
  • In the spiritual world no effect can be produced until the seed [thought-desire] is sown. The fruit will depend upon the nature of my seed [thought-desire].  The results I get depends upon my perception of Universal Mind, application of Natural Laws and Laws of Human Mind in the mighty Universal Domain of Causation.

MKS: The Real Secret to Freedom

The Real Secret is an attempt to convey the most important knowledge available to mankind in a way that the average person can understand.

For most people it is new, dramatic and almost unbelievable. We ask you to suspend judgement because everything you think and believe to be true has been fed to you since childhood by forces that do not want you to wake up to true freedom and personal power.

Many books have been written about the keys to success. There are many seminars that teach these same principles. So why do people still not find the success they desire? Could it be there are other forces at work that prevent you from finding the success you so richly deserve?

Do you want to outwit the devil in your life?

  1. What is your definition of success?
  2. Has there been a time in your life when nothing could stop you or get in your way? How did that feel? What were the circumstances surrounding that time?
  3. Has there been a time that you have been your own worst enemy? Have you gotten in your own way?
  4. Have you ever reacted to a situation and surprised yourself by your reaction (not knowing where it came from)?
  5. Have you ever talked yourself out of doing something that you knew was good for you? How did you justify it?
  6. Have you ever felt your creativity squashed or stifled? What got in your way?
  7. Do you want to conquer your obstacles and attain spiritual, physical and mental freedom?

Drifter or Non-Drifter? Which one are you? “Wisdom comes only to non-drifters who form positive thought habits as a dominating force in their lives.”  – Napoleon Hill

Why in the world, when success is available to everyone, do so few succeed? To the vast majority of people this is one of the most perplexing questions with which they can be confronted.

Many will tell you it is a rhetorical question – there is no answer. However, that is just not so. There is an answer and we want to share it with you. Perhaps you have already heard the answer. Albert E. N. Gray delivered it in a speech years ago in Philadelphia. The speech was titled, The Common Denominator of Success.

Mr. Gray explained that success is something achieved by the minority of men and women. It is therefore unusual. Not to be achieved by following our usual likes and dislikes, nor by being guided by our natural preferences and prejudices.

In other words, success cannot be achieved by doing what comes naturally. Gray said the common denominator of success is in forming the habit of doing things that failures don’t like to do.

Let me repeat, successful people form the habit of doing things failures don’t like to do.

Mr. Gray was asked why the successful people like doing the things that make them successful. He replied that the beautiful truth is, successful people don’t like doing these things, which is precisely why they have formed the habit of doing them. A habit is something you do without any conscious thought given… you automatically do it.

Successful people are influenced by the desire for pleasing results. Failures are influenced by the desire for pleasing activities. They are inclined to be satisfied with such results as can be obtained by doing things they like to do.

Exercise: Make a list of four activities you know will give you the success you seek. Commit to do these things religiously for thirty days and they will become habitual.

Put Yourself In The Flow of Affluence

1. Where ever I go I bring a gift. I may bring a compliment, prayer, trinket, flower…. but I promise I will give something to every person I encounter

2. I promise to a grateful receiver of the gifts that surround me, pausing often and noticing nature, kindnesses, smiles, and compliments; to which I gladly receive with a ‘thank you’

3. I promise to give hope for joy, affluence, kindness, and love, consciously with every encounter, regardless of the brevity

4. I promise to give, without expectation of reciprocity, to the channels I enrich because I know I am in the dynamic flow of giving and receiving

Then, as William James put it, you will wake up one fine day to find you are one of the competent or great ones of your generation.

You can choose whatever you want out of life. I personally thought this was the Carnegie wealth secret for a long time, especially since Napoleon Hill focuses on this concept in his other works. For example, in Outwitting the Devil, Hill explains that most people are drifters because they never decide what they want out of life. There is no secret.

  • HE (the Devil) CLAIMS TO OWN 98% OF ALL HUMAN MINDS through Hypnotic Rhythm. It is described as a Universal phenomenon. It is a force that collectively takes the natural course of the earth, moon, stars, galaxies and various environments and automates their rhythm in relation to each other.
  • The Law of Hypnotic Rhythm says a habit becomes a habit when you engage a behavior to which you devote no conscious attention. Conventional wisdom recommends applying personal discipline to change a bad habit.
  • The Law of Hypnotic Rhythm says a habit becomes a habit when you engage a behavior to which you devote no conscious attention. Conventional wisdom recommends applying personal discipline to change a bad habit.

In Napoleon Hill’s Audiobook Outwitting the Devil: (1) Napoleon Hill’s Audiobook Outwitting the Devil – YouTube Hill describes what he calls the Hypnotic Rhythm, which is a Law of Subconscious human nature that tends to slowly solidify our habits and make them a permanent part of our lives, often without us even noticing how powerful and addictive those habits may have become.

  • Breaking and designing new habits is a result of awareness, which leads to conscious repetition, which leads to habit, which leads to Hypnotic Rhythm. The Law of Hypnotic Rhythm is when a thought or physical movement repeats itself over and over through habit to the point where it reaches permanency.
  • A habit becomes a habit when you engage a behavior to which you devote no conscious attention. Conventional wisdom recommends applying personal discipline to change a bad habit.

24 TRAITS OF A “DRIFTER” Drifter Vs Non-Drifter?

I’ve always been a big fan of Napoleon Hill. After all, Think and Grow Rich is a timeless classic that contains a lot of seeds for personal development greatness.

So naturally, I was excited to learn about Napoleon Hill book entitled Outwitting the Devil. It was actually written in 1938, a year after Think and Grow Rich was published. The story goes that his family (specifically his wife) did not want the book published due to the controversial subject matter (an interview with “the devil”). Napoleon Hill died in 1970 and his wife, Annie Lou in 1984. The manuscript was kept by the Napoleon Hill Foundation and was only released for  publication in 2011.

Napoleon Hill describes a prevalent habit among all people which brings about suffering and destruction. This habit is known as drifting. When someone drifts, the devil, so to speak, takes hold of their life.  The “devil” claims to have control of 98% of the population while only 2% of people use their minds to stay focused and positive, thereby remaining immune to the devil’s powers.

People are divided into two classes: drifters and non-drifters. The 98% are what are referred to as “drifters”. The 2% the devil cannot reach are “non-drifters”.

Most people are drifters. This doesn’t make them good or bad. They simply let other people plan their lives for them. Sometimes it works out. Sometimes it doesn’t. Even if it does ‘work out’ the results are usually underwhelming. The “non-drifters” use a secret formula I discovered in the Master Key System referenced below:

DMP + PMA + WPOA + MMA = Personal Success

This formula sets forth the secret everyone should use to be a successful “non-drifter”.

DMP = Definate Major Purpose

PMA = Positive Mental Attitude

WPOA = Written Plan of Action

MMA = Master Mind Association

Key Takeaway: Without applying this success formula, we become drifters. The biggest thing that people struggle with is drifting: Allowing yourself to be influenced by circumstances outside your own mind.

Hill says that to get what you want in life simply requires a [1]: Definite Major Purpose, and [2]: Knowledge and Application of the Natural Laws. These two things produce the results you want.

A drifter has lots of opinions but none of them are his own. The youthful mind is apt to confuse temporary success for permanent success because they do not keep the following key points in mind.

Which one are you? Doer or Drifter?

Doers have a definite major purpose; positive mental attitude. Manage circumstances and resources; examine every idea they encounter before they adopt or discard it; take risks and assume responsibility; and learn from their mistakes.

The following is a list of character traits and habits of a typical DRIFTER according to Napoleon Hill’s Book titled: Outwitting the Devil.

1. He will be conspicuous by his lack of self-confidence.

2. He will never accomplish anything requiring thought and effort.

3. He spends all he earns and more too, if he can get credit.

4. He will be sick or ailing from some real or imaginary cause, and calling to high heaven if he suffers the least physical pain.

5. He will have little or no imagination.

6. He will lack enthusiasm and initiative to begin anything he is not forced to undertake, and he will plainly express his weakness by taking the line of least resistance whenever he can do so.

7. He will be ill-tempered and lacking in control of his emotions.

8. His personality will be without magnetism and it will not attract other people.

9. He will have opinions on everything but accurate knowledge of nothing.

10. He may be a jack of all trades but good at none.

11. He will neglect to cooperate with those around him, even those on whom he must depend for food and shelter.

12. He will make the same mistake over and over again, never profiting by failure.

13. He will be narrow-minded and intolerant on all subjects, ready to crucify those who may disagree with him.

14. He will expect everything of others but be willing to give little or nothing in return.

15. He may begin many things but he will complete nothing.

16. He will be loud in his condemnation of his government, but he will never tell you definitely how it can be improved.

17. He will never reach decisions on anything if he can avoid it, and if he is forced to decide he will reverse himself at the first opportunity.

18. He will eat too much and exercise too little.

19. He will take a drink of liquor if someone else will pay for it.

20. He will gamble if he can do it “on the cuff”.

21. He will criticize others who are succeeding in their chosen calling.

22. In brief, the drifter will work harder to get out of thinking than most others work in earning a good living.

23. He will tell a lie rather than admit his ignorance on any subject.

24. If he works for others, he will criticize them to their backs and flatter them to their faces.

Here’s the description of a “non-drifter” as described by Hill.

  1. He is always engaged in doing something definite, through some well-organized plan which is definite. He has a major goal in life to which he is always working, and many minor goals, all of which lead toward his central scheme.
  2. The tone of his voice, the quickness of his step, the sparkle in his eyes, the quickness of his decisions clearly mark him as a person who knows exactly what he wants and is determined to get it, no matter how long it may take or what price he must pay.
  3. If you ask him questions, he gives you direct answers and never falls back on evasions or resorts to subterfuge.
  4. He extends many favors to others, but accepts favors sparingly or not at all.
  5. He will be found up front whether he is playing a game, or fighting a war.
  6. If he does not know the answers he will say so frankly.
  7. He has a good memory; never offers an alibi for his shortcomings.
  8. He never blames others for his mistakes, no matter if they deserve the blame.
  9. He used to be known as a go-getter, but in modern times he is called a go-giver. You will find him running the biggest business in town, living on the best street, driving the best automobile, and making his presence felt wherever he happens to be.
  10. He is an inspiration to all who come into contact with his mind.
  11. The major distinguishing feature of the non-drifter is this: He has a mind of his own and uses it for all purposes.

There they are the traits of a non-drifter as opposed to those a drifter. Study them and make necessary changes.

The Seven Principles of Hypnotic Rhythm

Make sure you put them into action!

  1. Definiteness of Purpose (VS. Drifting)- Using Hypnotic Rhythm for your own good. Definiteness of purpose is another way of saying that you MUST have a clear vision, clear goals, clear intentions and clear plans on how to achieve them. Many people in the world today are “Drifters”.
  • Napoleon Hill describes a drifter as someone that is lazy, indifferent, allows others to think for them and procrastinates. A passive consumer rather than a proactive researcher and thinker.
  • The classic drifter becomes part of someone else’s plan rather than having his/her own plan. As you look to break into the business field, you must know that there are many Drifters applying to these careers.
  • The Drifter copies and pastes job descriptions onto their resume vs. thinking through the problems potential employers might have and write up their resume as a solution to those problems, like someone with definiteness of purpose.
  • “Faith is definiteness of purpose backed by belief in the attainment of the object of that purpose. “ “All habits, save only that of the love of definiteness of purpose, may lead to the habit of drifting. “
  • 2. Mastery over Self: “The person who is not master of himself can never be master of others. “If you practice your god given gift to think about how you will apply yourself in a way that will add massive value, you’ll break free from the me-too mindset. Mastery over self is the ability to respond to your mind, body and spirit in such a way that does not tolerate anything below your standards.
  • 3. Learning from Adversity: In order to create meaningful results in your life, you must be able to learn from adversity. For every challenge, there is a huge opportunity on the other side.
  • 4. Controlling environmental influence (associations): Are you surrounding yourself with friends that are not supportive of your goals? Perhaps they don’t take you seriously when you share your dreams or aspirations. If that is the case, you must divest yourself of them.
  • 5. Time (giving permanency to positive, rather than negative thought-habits and developing wisdom) Whatever you feel, think or do consistently, with time, it becomes engrained in your life as a habit. This is why the principle of time will make or break you. It is in your best interest to understand that time is the glue of your thoughts and actions.
  • Time eventually sets a course for you, good or bad, profitable or not, that will determine your future. The important thing to remember here is smart business people set goals, measure and accomplish them daily. By doing so, you’ll be using the principle of time to mold you right into this six-seven figure business and beyond.

6. Harmony (acting with definiteness of purpose to become the dominating influence in your own mental, spiritual, and physical environment). This can work for or against you. It is a law of nature. Remember Hill’s definition of the Master Mind: “harmonious coordination of two or more minds working to a definite end. “

7. Caution (thinking through your plans before you act): As it relates to caution… The best think you can do is think through and practice your plans before showing up to the interview. There’s nothing worse than showing up unprepared. The same is true when you get into the business. You’ll want to make sure to prepare a yearly and quarterly plan for your territory or business.

10 rules to Eliminate Drifting

Rule #1: Do your own thinking on all occasions. The fact that human beings are given complete control over nothing save the power to think their own thoughts is laden with significance.

Use the spotlight of your mind to direct your thinking. If you cannot ‘not think’ for 15 seconds you are a slave to your mind.

Do you worry? Constantly feel fear and anxiety? These are all further reasons to take back the power that you have to control your thinking.

Rule #2: Decide definitely what you want from life; then create a plan for attaining it and be willing to sacrifice everything else, if necessary, rather than accept permanent defeat.

Understand that not having a plan, is a plan by itself. Just an absolute terrible one. If you don’t have the GPS destination of where you want to go, then you will just let the wind decide instead.

In order to create what we want in our life, it requires sacrifice. The bigger the sacrifice the more commitment and drive you create for yourself.

Rule #3: Analyze temporary defeat, no matter of what nature or cause, and extract from it the seed of an equivalent advantage.

Squeeze that orange until all the juice comes out. By dissecting past failures, you gain invaluable lessons and prevent yourself from doing the same mistake again and again. Mistakes are great, just don’t make them twice.

Rule #4: Be willing to render useful service equivalent to the value of all material things you demand of life, and render the service first.

If you want a billion dollars, solve a billion dollar problem. Create and give the service equivalent or more of what you desire, first. No more needs to be said.

Rule #5: Recognize that your brain is a receiving set that can be attuned to receive communications from the universal storehouse of infinite intelligence, to help you transmute your desires into their physical equivalent.

Have systems put in place to create empty space in your mind. The more empty space from mindfulness, walking etc, will allow the universal intelligence to come inside and provide the guidance you desire.

Rule #6: Recognize that your greatest asset is time, the only thing except the power of thought which you own outright, and the one thing which can be shaped into whatever material things you want. Budget your time so none of it is wasted.

If you were truly in forward motion and on your path and purpose, would you want to rest? Take breaks? No. You wouldn’t. Eliminate procrastination, defeat the Enemies that are not allowing you to utilize the gift of time.

Rule #7: Recognize the trust that fear generally is a filler with which the Devil occupies the unused portion of your mind. It is only a state of mind which you can control by filling the space it occupies with faith in your ability to make life provide you with whatever you demand of it.

Fear is the compass to more life. Breathe, and overcome. Notice that every time you get close to the perceived dragon, it disappears. The fear is not real. It’s only a state of mind.

Rule #8: When you pray, do not beg! Demand what you want and insist upon getting exactly that, with no substitutes.

Please oh please God! Absolutely never again. I want. I demand. I deserve. Demand what you want and insist on getting it. Raise your standards.

Rule #9: Recognize that life is a cruel taskmaster and that either you master it or it masters you. There is no half-way or compromising point. Never accept from life anything you do not want. If that which you do not want is temporarily forced upon you, you can refuse, in your own mind, to accept it and it will make way for the thing you do want.

There is no half way or compromising. It’s either you are in control or you are not. The power of your mind is limitless.

Rule #10: Lastly, remember that your dominating thoughts attract, through a definite law of nature, by the shortest and most convenient route, their physical counterpart. Be careful what your thoughts dwell upon.

Are your dominating thoughts bringing you closer to what you desire or further? Think it’s time to change something?

Assessment: Question for you. Dear reader regarding Napoleon Hill defeating the Devil: If you were to rate these rules on a scale of 1-10. 1 being I’m terrible at it and 10 being I’m a master.

  • What would your combined number be?
  • Which one is your weakest link?

I look forward to hearing about it in the comments.

MKE: Dead Men Talking

A mysterious conversation between Michael Kissinger and Charles “Freddie” Kohl the Ghost of the Kohl Mansion.

According to CBS News pollsters, nearly half of the U.S. adult population believes in ghosts. Certainly, there are many noted incidents of famous U.S. ghost sightings which include: Abraham Lincoln, John and Abigail Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Betsy Ross, Al Capone, Rudolph Valentino, and the ghosts of Gettysburg.

Every house has a story to tell.

Almost all of the good ones involve ghosts. Gothic narratives are almost inseparable from the places or dwellings it chooses to fictionalize- whether it is a crumbling manor house or a decadent mansion or an abandoned apartment building- the house is always sentient, always watching and listening to the lives of those who live and once lived in them …

Included among the San Francisco Bay Area’s most reported Phantom Zones and haunted spots are:

  • The Kohl Mansion (Burlingame),
  • The abandoned prison on Alcatraz Island,
  • Winchester Mystery House (San Jose),
  • Stow Lake (San Francisco),
  • The Rose Hill Cemetery (Antioch) and possibly
  • The 1908-built Sam Mazza Castle right in Pacifica.

The Kohl Mansion (Burlingame)

Are you asking, “Can dead talk with the living?

  • Answer: Possibly. Some people believe the dead cannot talk with the living, nor does the dead know what the living are doing (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6). However, almost half the people on earth believe in reincarnation, a teaching that the soul never dies …

We’ll also focus on Clayton Kissinger, “Michael’s” youngest son who died on February 28, 2003 and returned to life on March 1, 2003. It took 18 years to bring him back from a Traumatic Brain Injury, stroke, coma, loss of, etc. eyesight

Why this message?

  • One of the biggest reasons is “Freddie” committed suicide.  Who else would be better to discuss death with? “Freddie” has been roaming the Kohl Mansion for over 100 years.
  • Another is suicide is the tenth leading cause of death overall in the United States. More years of life are lost to suicide than to any other single cause except heart disease and cancer [5] 44,000 Americans die by suicide each year. The Veterans Administration admitted that as many as 20 American veterans commit suicide every single day. This may help as a prevention. The rate of suicide is highest in middle-aged white men . On average, there are 132 suicides per day. Worldwide an estimated one million people per year die by suicide. [“a death every 40 seconds or about 3,000 every day”].

A GHOSTLY EXPERIENCE

“Michael” says the conversation with “Freddie” remains in his memory from years ago. At the time he was working as a night security guard at the Kohl Mansion.

Every night he would walk multiple times through the Mansion and around the grounds surrounding the Mansion.  He discovered many unusual things.   Strange noises, lights on the 4th floor in a locked room, and strange feelings as he walked in the Mansion and around the grounds.

He says it was like he was being followed all through the Mansion. He worked there for months every night until 7:00 am the next morning.

As he worked there strange feelings would occasionally come over him.  It was not something that caused him to get scarred and uncomfortable.  It was strange feelings that are hard to describe.

Months went by but every evening he felt these feelings with “Freddie“.

One evening while “Michael” was in the Grand Ball Room something came over him. It caused him to talk out loud.  This started many conversations between “Freddie” and “Michael”.

Freddie” spoke softly and told “Michael” not to worry he was “Freddie” the owner of the Mansion.

As the evenings went by “Michael” would call out for “Freddie“.  “Michael” started receiving short responses.

In “Michael” mind he thought he was talking out loud. As “Michael” thinks about it could have been a mental conversation.

More time passed.

The conversations first started the were very short.  General greetings.  Then as the evenings passed and as time went on the conversations lasted longer. Then they became longer and more serious.

“Michael” heard before starting to work in the evenings at the Mansion that it had a ghost.  He was interested in knowing more and more.

No Benefit of Intracranial Pressure Monitoring for Pediatric Traumatic Brain Injury - Neurology Advisor

“Freddie” said he wanted to know more about “Michael”.

“Michael” fold him about his youngest son Clayton who had been attacked by 21 guys with baseball bats. He died that night and was brought back to life. Clayton had a traumatic brain injury, a coma, a stroke. Clayton was in a coma for a very long time.

“Michael” told “Freddie” on the night of the attack he was on the floor in the San Francisco General Hospital ICU praying that if God kept Clayton alive, he would do whatever God asked him to do. Ever since that night “Michael” has done whatever God asked him to do.

The hospital doctors told “Michael” many things that night.

The doctors told him: Traumatic brain injury (TBI), a condition to the head which disrupts normal brain function. It is a major cause of death and disability in the United States. In the U.S., every year, about 2.6 million people have some type of brain injury.

A TBI impaired concentration, limited attention span, and short-term memory. Clayton’s traumatic brain injury will cause him to experience many challenges in learning new material and completing assignments or just functioning normally in his life. God kept Clayton alive. He was in a coma.

Charles F. Haanel Quotes - StoreMyPic | Page 2

Clayton was in a coma for months. Every day “Michael” would go to the ICU hospital unit and play a subliminal program Sound Health, Sound Wealth to heal Clayton. This is a one-of-a-kind program that synthesizes ancient wisdom, post-quantum physics, vibration, color therapies, and the very latest scientific research and technology into an unprecedented new sound frequency treatment for better health.

These powerful biochemical messengers enabled Clayton to literally access his DNA codes, increasing their ability to heal him psychologically, physically, and spiritually.

Clayton was able to reap all the amazing benefits of this cutting-edge technology. It tapped into Clayton’s internal subconscious mind at the deepest core of his being!

“Michael” knew from his training that people in a coma are not brain dead or totally out of it. He knew that Clayton could hear everything in his state of unconsciousness.

Everyday Clayton was in his coma 24/7 “Michael” played the program to heal Clayton.

Clayton had been a star high school football player. He was very physical. His doctors told “Michael” Clayton may not survive from his coma or if he did wake up, he may never walk again, complete high school or ever function as a normal child or adult.

As Clayton improved, “Michael” observed Clayton had many challenges. Things like:

  • Changes in physical and mental habits
  • Change in eating habits
  • Unusual or easy irritability
  • Persistent crying and inability to be consoled
  • Change in ability to pay attention
  • Change in sleep habits
  • Seizures
  • Sad or depressed moods
  • Drowsiness
  • Loss of interest in favorite activities
  • Many more

“Michael” said to “Freddie” he worried more and more about Clayton committing suicide because the doctors told “Michael” Clayton may never recover. He was only 14 years old at the time.

Kissinger said to “Freddie” since he committed suicide, he had questions. “Michael” wanted to know all that “Freddie” knew about life and suicide.

“Freddie” agreed to tell “Michael” all that he knew.

“Michael” want to know why a man as rich as “Freddie” would take his life since he was one of the richest men in the Bay Area. “Freddie” committed suicide in 1921. He owned the Kohl Mansion and had assets in excess of $5.5 million.

  • “Freddie” wanted to know why Kissinger was in his Mansion.  “Michael” told “Freddie he was a guard walking the Mansion every evening.  “Michael” told “Freddie” his son Clayton was attacked by a gang and died but was brought back from death.  “Michael” told “Freddie” he spent years bringing Clayton back from the dead at a cost in excess of $3.5 million.  “Michael” told “Freddie” he had to give up his previous life in order to take care of Clayton.
  • “Michael said he wanted to know more about death and suicide. What it was like to die.  “Michael” told “Freddie” that Clayton told him that when you die you go to a place where there is a brilliant light.  You float in that zone until you live or die.

Over time “Freddie” talked to “Michael” on many occasions.

They had conversations about the Kohl family, its lifestyle, home, events of the time, life, and death. “Freddie” told “Michael” his father was William Kohl. That he had made his fortunes as a founding partner of the Alaska Commercial Company.

Freddie” told “Michael” he grew up accustomed to an opulent and fashionable lifestyle and that he married Mary Elizabeth Godey (Bessie) in 1904. “Freddie” told “Michael” that:

  • Bessie and “Freddie” had traveled to extensively throughout Europe
  • They built the Kohl Mansion between 1912 and 1914.

The Kohl Mansion was originally known as “The Oaks.” It was red-brick, 63-room Tudor mansion that still stands on forty acres along Adeline Drive in north Burlingame.

Freddie” told “Michael” the estate included beautiful, rolling landscapes, a sunken English rose garden, tennis courts, green houses, large carriage house, and a 150,000-gallon reservoir. That its value stood at $525,000 in those early days.

Freddie” said the Mansion was nothing short of magical. There were sprawling lawns, an incredible rose garden, and a wonderful terrace.  There was the distinctive wood-paneled Great Hall and the grand staircase.  There were lavish parties he gave for the “smart set.”

“Frederick” said he and Bessie were central members of the “Smart Set” in San Francisco during the first years of the century. They entertained at the Mansion and also at their summer home they had purchased from the Crockers. It is now called Idlewild and on their yacht there.

“Freddie” said had the Mansion designed by local architects Howard and White to resemble Somerset House, seat of the Duke of Surrey in England.

The first floor was made for entertaining in its light filled dining room and in the Great Hall patterned after Arlington Hall in Essex, England– a perfect setting for Bessie’s singing.

“Freddie” said the mansion’s 63 rooms included, beside the public rooms and the bedrooms, a billiard room, organ, and echo organ rooms; a china room, a scullery; cold room and storeroom; two steel-lined fireproof vaults; sewing, linen, cedar and brushing rooms; a wine cellar; a trunk room and a laundry. A chapel was built off the master bedroom on the second floor for Bessie, who was a Catholic.

The impressive Great Hall (27’x60’x40’H) took the visitor’s breath away with the height of its ceiling and the elegance of its dark oak walls. Sunlight poured in through the wall of mullioned windows.

The Hall housed both an Aeolian organ and a small echo organ installed hidden behind the oak walls. The mantle of its imposing Belgian marble fireplace large enough to stand in is decorated with choir boys holding music sheets.

The large painting of a knight on horseback above the fireplace was by artist Emile Mazy. Kohl included a portrait of his daughter Lucia.

In the main stairwell of the mansion hung a charming oil painting of Freddie at about the age of three (app. 1866). His face and his haircut are all boy, however his off the shoulder gown, usual for a fashionable young child at that time, surprises our modern eyes.

The house had many careful architectural details. The ancient oak trees surrounding the house were reflected in the oak leaves and acorns carved into the wood, especially in the entry and the library.

“Freddie” said he brought artisans from Europe to do plaster detailing. They created Pompeiian “grotesque” panels in the Library, Robert Adam-style relief work in the dining room, and also ram’s heads in the corners of the billiard room ceiling.

The Sad Tale of “Freddie” Continues

Freddie” said his ghostly tale involving a fatal attraction with his mother’s maid, Adele. It had gone too far. “Freddie” said problems developed when Adele argued with a chauffeur, slapped him, and spat in his face.

Freddie” said he thought she belonged in an asylum and called the police. The court disagreed. Adele was a bit on the temperamental side, but surely not deranged. She went free.

Freddie” said he discharged Adele, offering to pay her way to France. She refused, followed his family home, and filed suit against him.

A well-publicized trial took place in 1911, at the Grant Building at 7th and Market in San Francisco. The court dismissed the charges in his favor. Adele rushed from the room. She was waiting near the elevator when he emerged.

The outraged Adele Verge found him outside the courthouse. Drawing a nickel-plated derringer from her handbag. She fired point blank. “Freddie” said he slumping to the floor. Adele turned and fled.

The bullet in his chest was a constant source of pain, added to this growing anxiety.

Adele was released from the asylum and threatened to finish the job of killing him.

In 1920, Adele wrote first from Quebec, then British Columbia. She was coming closer and closer. He said he was certain Adele was on her way to kill him.

By 1921, “Freddie” said his mental instability reached a deadly peak. He feared her revenge. It terrified him.

On the morning of November 23, 1921, at the Del Montel Lodge near Pebble Beach, California “Freddie” breakfasted alone in his suite. At 10 a.m. a single shot was heard. Freddie” was found, still seated at the table, with a .38 caliber revolver clutched in his hand. The bullet had passed through his skull, lodging in the wall.

The Master Key System - Review, Results and Final Summary - Completed Thoughts

Rumor has it that while he was attending Harvard University, Bill Gates discovered and read The Master Key System by Charles F. Haanel. It was this book that inspired Bill Gates to drop out of the University and pursue his dream of “a computer on every desktop.” You probably know the results. . .

It is Silicon Valley’s secret that almost every entrepreneur who made a fortune in
recent years did so by studying the words Mr. Haanel penned over eighty years ago! Almost every millionaire and billionaire in the Valley read The Master Key System by Charles F. Haanel. Since this book was no longer in print until recently, copies of The Master Key System became a hot commodity in the Valley.

The Master Key System is a system that teaches the ultimate principles, causes,
effects, and laws that underlie all attainment and success. When you want to attain
something, The Master Key System will show you how to get it. The results you will
attain from using this system are so startling as to appear incredible. For this reason, more and more people are becoming students of The Master Key System than ever before.

In 24 parts, The Master Key sets out the fundamental principles of life and creative
living, as Haanel came to understand and apply them. Basic to his teaching is the correct development and use of mental power — the key to truly creative power and action, harmony and health, love and happiness, and abundant possibilities. Each part is meant to be studied like a correspondence course lesson, but this is also a book that can be opened at random for whatever gem of advice your eyes happen to fall upon.

This age-old wisdom was written by someone who could perceive and tap into
Universal Mind but who seems to have no particular allegiance to any specific system of knowledge. Haanel’s numbered common-sense messages still have a freshness 89 years after they were first assembled.

Mr. Haanel died in 1949 and is buried in Bellefontaine Cemetery, St. Louis. Walter
B. Stevens described Mr. Haanel as “a man of mature judgement, capable of taking a calm survey of life and correctly valuing its opportunities, its possibilities, its demands and obligation.

Conclusion

Freddie” told Kissinger over the years the nuns reported unexplainable occurrences including visions, eerie sounds, and an empty elevator going up and down and the sound of a limping figure in his locked billiard room.  That was him walking through his Mansion.

The Priests were summoned to exorcise his ghost. They were unsuccessful. He still haunts his Mansion to this day. People continue to report seeing “Freddie” in the parlor as well as on the stairs. “Freddie” has become like the friendly “Ghost of the Kohl Mansion.”
