What if you are not “meant” to be an entrepreneur?
Is entrepreneurship your calling for 2024?
There is no harm in dreaming big, whether you are an entrepreneur or not. But if you have a challenging time thinking small, then entrepreneurship just might be your calling. Many entrepreneurs dream big and believe the sky’s the limit—and their vision sets them apart.
If you’re reading this, you’re probably asking yourself, “Am I an entrepreneur?” But answering that question is harder than it may seem.
Being an entrepreneur is more than starting a company. It’s a lifestyle and a mindset, and not everyone has what it takes.
To help you find out if you’re an entrepreneur and sort through the many definitions of “entrepreneurship,” we talked to researchers, professors, startups, and students at the University of San Francisco School of Business to see what entrepreneurship meant to them. Here are the signs they said you should see in yourself if you want to be an entrepreneur.
13 Signs You’re Meant to Be an Entrepreneur
1. You’re a self-starter.
2. Passion is prevalent.
3. You possess people skills.
4. You’re not willing to take no for an answer.
5. You’re a creative thinker.
6. You are competitive by nature.
7. You’re hardworking.
8. You have a purpose.
9. You have a support System.
10. You embrace fear.
11. You are a doer.
12. You are teachable.
13. You have stickability.
About Us
Nothing about us screams “entrepreneur.” Or even moderately “successful.”
Seriously:
Upon meeting us in person for the first time, a client’s biggest takeaway was, “You’re so normal!” (Like, I cannot believe you are the successful coach I have been talking to all this time!)
And the year our business crossed $2 Million in annual sales, a stranger at a high-level mastermind asked us,
“Are you making any sales yet?” (Probably because we were doing our usual thing of not talking a lot and was not dressed super flashily either.) There is no “one way” to be a successful entrepreneur.
In fact, here is how we have turned our top “non-entrepreneurial” qualities into our best differentiators. If any of these describe you too, we hope you find this helpful:
Introverted:
WE listen better. And as a result, we are able to create and offer thoughtful, comprehensive services, products and content.
Not a natural salesperson:
That means we HAVE to create and offer awesome services and products that we believe in. Because that is the only way we can sell them with confidence. Letting our services and products speak for themselves has worked out well for our clients and our business.
Do not like talking about how much money we make.
When we made our first million, we talked about it. We also showed proof via our tax returns and sales receipts. This was intentional, so you know we are not making up any income claims.
Now, we get to talk about the money our clients make. Or fun stories about whatever we want to talk about.
Not naturally confident on video.
How did we get here? We had to learn. And practice. A lot. Definitely a lot more than someone who is naturally confident or “entrepreneurial.”
And through the learning and the practice, we connected with a lot more people, created a lot more content, and made a lot more sales.
The same goes for you.: Everything you have and are can be made to work FOR you. No matter who you are and what you are like, Share you. What you know.
If you want help learning how to do it contact us.
