THE 7 UNIVERSAL LAWS OF THE UNIVERSE THAT GOVERN ALL

Have you heard of Hermeticism or the Kybalion? You may not have given much thought to what the Hermetic Principles involves. Surprisingly, these ancient principles can be applied to your life today!

As it turns out, Hermeticism’s ancient principles for self-mastery can be used by anyone who is looking to further their personal growth. This is especially effective if you’re already working with the Universal.

As you’ll see in this beginner’s guide, there is some significant overlap. There are also some important ways in which an understanding of Hermeticism can help you to push past some of the most commonly encountered blocks to effective manifestation.

We’ll explore each of the laws of the universe and the associated Hermetic Principles. In this way, we will look at how these laws of the universe are connected. With the 7 hermetic principles explained, you’ll be able to apply them to your existing practices and use them to inspire new changes in your thinking

The seven principles are the foundation of Hermeticism, a branch of spiritual philosophy dating back as early as the first century A.D. They were outlined by famed author Hermes Trismegistus, who is believed to have written the Emerald Tablet and the Corpus Hermeticum (two highly influential, ancient teachings).

His work would go on to influence both ancient Greek and Egyptian cultures, with both adopting him as a god of wisdom. (In Greece he was called Hermes; in Egypt, Thoth.) He was known in his time as a great master of the universe and is said to have lived for thousands of years.

Over time, the seven hermetic principles were passed down by word-of-mouth from teacher to student, and eventually, one day in the early 20th century, the teachings were compiled into a book called The Kybalion, written by “The Three Initiates.” Today, they remain an occult source of wisdom, separate from any real religion but powerful nonetheless.

Hermeticism Coaching

Hermeticism is a tradition that dates back as far as the 1st and 2nd centuries AD. It is one of the oldest non-Christian belief systems that is still practiced today. The major teachings associated with Hermeticism were preserved. They can be found in Byzantine collections of writings and letters called the Corpus Hermetica, in which the key tenets of this world view are explained.

The documents were translated into Latin during the 15th century. They’re widely thought to have inspired and influenced a great many philosophers and artists during the Italian Renaissance.

Their modern popularity derives from the Freemasons, who rediscovered the Hermetic Principles and spread their wisdom. One of the main reasons why Hermeticism has endured is that it purports to explain the basic fabric of reality in a timeless, elegant way. They speak to questions that our species has posed since its infancy. It outlines the interconnectedness of every part of our Universe and underlining our unique power to create positive change.

In addition, the doctrines of Hermeticism are compatible with much of modern science. Plus, these laws of the universe can be seamlessly integrated into a wide range of different religions (as well as being compatible with atheistic perspectives).

About Hermes Trismegistus

Hermes Trismegistus is viewed as the father of Hermeticism. He is also credited as the writer of the Corpus Hermeticum (as well as the Emerald Tablet).

However, he isn’t thought to have been any one individual person. Rather, it is widely suspected that he is a blend of a few distinct mythological figures; among them the Hellenistic god Hermes and the Egyptian god Thoth.

That said, it is worth noting that some scholars do hold that he was a real person. Some people even argue that there were two distinct figures known as Hermes Trismegistus.

In this way, both of these figures played a role in creating the hermetic philosophy.

Many who live according to the Hermetic Principles view Hermes Trismegistus’s real identity to be inconsequential, focusing instead on the Hermetic teachings themselves and on their surprising applicability to modern times.

Regardless of his precise identity, he has come to symbolize magic, mysticism, interconnectedness, and alchemy.

Meanwhile, the Corpus Hermeticum has been incredibly influential and deeply valuable for ancient cultures and continues to be so.

The Planes Of Existence And The Universal Laws Coaching

In Hermetic traditions the three planes of existence are the mental, physical and spiritual. Hermeticism posits deep connections between all three of these planes and emphasizes that each is constantly influencing the others.

This aspect of Hermetic philosophy is in harmony with what the Law of Attraction teaches us; namely, that our thoughts (which are on the mental plane) can directly impact the world around us (the physical plane).

Similarly, the emotional and spiritual world has very real ramifications for how our lives develop.

Planes of existence are intimately related to vibrational frequency. Crucially, your environment (the physical plane) will shift its vibration so that it is in tune with the mental vibration of your thoughts.

Meanwhile, the mental plane’s vibration is partially determined by your spiritual vibration. So, as the Universal Law tells us, increasing our spiritual vibration is the path to creating a better and more fulfilling material life.

The Kybalion And The Hermetic Principles

Much of Hermeticism has been condensed into The Kybalion. The Kybalion is a book that was published by a mysterious individual (or individuals) named “the Three Initiates”.

The book’s name refers to the three planes of existence: the physical, the mental, and the spiritual. It also is linked to Hermes’ mastery of these three domains.

According to the Kybalion, 7 Hermetic Principles should guide our understanding of the Universe. Each chapter of the book is devoted to explaining and illustrating one of the Principles.

You can think of these Principles as universal laws or doctrines. On the first read, it can seem as though the Kybalion is based on fantasy and has little relevance for everyday scenarios or contemporary people. However, once you take the time to interpret and consider the core meaning of each Principle, it becomes apparent that they have broad and powerful applicability.

And while the seven principles are just one way of understanding the universe, they aren’t so constricting that they cannot be studied alongside other spiritual philosophies. Here’s what each of the seven principles is all about:

  1. The Principle of Mentalism.

“The All is Mind; the Universe is Mental.” —The Kybalion

The principle of mentalism states that the universe is akin to a mental projection. The is like manifestation 101, which is all about using your thoughts to shape your reality.

For anything to be, a thought must precede it. Through this principle, it’s believed that God is consciousness, or thought, and the universe is a manifestation of the mind of God. Using this law, we, too, can harness the power of our minds to create the life we want.

How to apply it:

Consider the initial thought that led you to be able to read this, on whatever device you’re on. Or even the thought that is most influencing your mood right now.

When we recognize how much our thoughts manifest every day, whether internally as a physiological or emotional state, or externally, as the things we do or places we go, we see that when we can control our mind, we control our lives. We can get better at this through spiritual practices such as meditation, which help us train the mind.

2. The Principle of Correspondence.

“As above, so below; as below, so above.” —The Kybalion

We’ve all heard this quote before, but maybe you never knew it was Hermes who first coined it. It’s closely related to the first principle of mentalism and states that what we hold in our thoughts and mind will become our reality. It explains the many planes of existence, including those of lower and higher vibrational frequencies and how they’re connected.

How to apply it:

Applying this law is all about understanding your connection to the world around you and how you’re showing up for yourself and the universe through your thoughts, and subsequently, your actions. When we have a firm grasp on how we’re interacting with life and how it’s affecting us, we can recognize and break patterns, live in alignment with our highest good, and feel harmonious with everything there is.

3. The Principle of Vibration.

“Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.” —The Kybalion

Yes, believe it or not, the idea of “vibes” has been around a long, long time. The principle of vibration states that all things, both physical matter and spiritual energy, hold a certain vibration.

Basic science tells us atoms are in constant motion, as is the universe itself. Even our hearts, as they beat, give off different vibrations depending on our emotional state. And when we’re “vibing high,” we’re able to avoid low-level frequencies that don’t serve us.

How to apply it:

This will look different for everyone, but to apply this third principle, you want to not only do things but think thoughts that allow you to be in a state of ease, where your body is “vibrating” at a more positive level. Applying the first two principles can help you start to do this. (You might be noticing all of these principles are deeply interwoven.) With this principle, we acknowledge that we have the power to control our vibration rather than our vibration controlling us.

4. The Principle of Polarity.

“Everything is dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.” —The Kybalion

The principle of polarity explains that seemingly opposite things are actually one and the same at varying degrees. A simple example of this is hot and cold. Cold is just the absence of heat, and they’re both one thing: temperature.

Physical matter and spiritual energy are the same thing, with spiritual energy vibrating at a much higher level, such that it can’t be perceived by our senses. Love and hate are two ways of experiencing the same thing, a relationship toward something. This is the foundation of alchemy, or the ability to “transmute” your experiences at will.

How to apply it:

Applying the principle of polarity takes a degree of mental stamina and involves shifting the way you look at something, potentially completely on its head. Take the hate you may feel for someone: Is there any way you can shift it to feelings of love, for example? Any time a lower vibrational emotion is bringing you down, can you recognize it, feel it, and transmute it to a more positive one?

5. The Principle of Rhythm.

“Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.” —The Kybalion

Closely related to the principle of polarity, the fifth principle states that between the opposing poles, there exists an inherent rhythm. The tides move in and out. We inhale and exhale. Everything is in motion. Nature has its seasons and so, too, do we. Understanding this principle allows us to recognize our life’s—and the universe’s—natural rhythms, so we can actually work with them rather than having them working against us.

How to apply it:

Know that nothing lasts forever, and things are ever-changing. As you get deeper into working with this law, you’ll be able to work with your own emotional states to avoid a dramatic pendulum swing of feelings.

It’s thought that eventually the master will be able to completely transcend duality, but if you’re just getting started, try becoming more aware of your emotional state and using polarity (No. 4) and rhythm to start getting more comfortable with the natural fluxes of your life.

6. The Principle of Cause and Effect.

“Every cause has its effect; every effect has its cause; everything happens according to law; chance is but a name for law not recognized; there are many planes of causation, but nothing escapes the law.” —The Kybalion

Everything is connected through the principle of cause and effect, for each cause of one thing is merely the effect of something else, going back to the very beginning.

Ask yourself, are you a cause? Or are you an effect? This principle is all about acknowledging the effects of our thoughts and behavior and how we may change them to bring about greater effects.

How to apply it:

When something doesn’t go as planned or you find yourself unhappy, ask yourself, what was the cause? Many times, we find ourselves reacting to the world around us, trapped in a back-and-forth of reacting to our circumstances rather than forging our own path. When we take action to get the effect we want, we move from feeling like a victim to feeling empowered.

7. The Principle of Gender.

“Gender is in everything; everything has its masculine and feminine principles; gender manifests on all planes.” —The Kybalion

The seventh principle states that all things have masculine and feminine qualities. Yes, the two sexes can be thought of as a physical manifestation of this principle, but as we’re all coming to understand, on an internal level, all of us hold both energies. (Think the left and right brain.)

Masculine and feminine energy exists in not only the physical plane but the mental and spiritual plane as well. The unity of these two energies is essential for creation, and when one has a balance of both, they’re better able to apply all of the principles together for maximum benefit.

How to apply it:

Accept all the parts of yourself, and understand that balance in all is key for self-mastery. Buddha called this the middle way, and it’s all about the balance of masculine and feminine; of heavenly and Earthbound; and of the mind, body, and spirit. When we can achieve this balance within ourselves, we’re well equipped to harness all of these principles and use them in our lives for good.

If this all sounds like a lot—don’t worry. These principles run very, very deep, and it can take a long time to fully understand and embody them. Each time you come back to them, you may understand them in a new way, or on a deeper level. And in time, these principles can help you master your own mind and your life as a whole.

How Your Mind Work Coaching

Bob Proctor taught me there’s one thing that all goal-oriented people have in common:

We want to understand how our mind works so we can thrive in this world.

I have been studying this topic every day for more than 30+ years. And today, I’d like to give you a fundamental understanding of what I have discovered from Bob.

If you practice applying what I’m about to share, you will find it a lot easier to improve every area of your life.

Understanding Precedes Change

The easiest way to explain how the mind works is to use an image. However, since no one has ever seen the mind, we must engage our imagination to build this image.

This can be accomplished with…

The Stickperson

The Stickperson is built upon the premise that you have a power within you that is far superior to any condition or circumstance around you. You can use your thoughts to direct this power to whatever results you choose.

Although the graphic below may seem elementary, I caution you not to allow its apparent simplicity to deceive you. If you truly understand this graphic, it can reveal to you a wonderful world of power, possibility and promise.

Conscious Mind—Thinking Mind

The top half of your head, the conscious mind, is the part of you that thinks and reasons. It’s also where your free will lies—where you decide what you want to do and what you want to focus on.

The conscious mind is also where your sensory factors and intellectual faculties are…

Sensory factors allow you to correspond with the outside world through sight, sound, touch, smell and taste. When you allow outside stimuli to direct your thoughts, you focus on ‘what is’ rather than ‘what can be.’

On the other hand, intellectual faculties, such as your will and imagination, allow you to direct the power (the energy) that is always flowing to and through you inward. By focusing there, you can build any idea or thought you want.

The conscious mind can accept or reject any idea. No person or circumstance can force you to think any thoughts you do not want. This is important because the thoughts you choose—whether they come from outside or inside—will eventually determine your results in life. As you accept a thought, it is impressed upon your subconscious mind.

Subconscious Mind—Conditioned Mind

This part of you functions in every cell of your body. However, for our image, the bottom half of your head will represent your subconscious mind.

Every thought or word your conscious mind chooses to accept (whether it’s currently true or not), the subconscious mind must accept… it has no ability to reject. This part of your mind knows no limits, except those you choose.

Any thought you consciously impress upon the subconscious over and over (such as affirmations) becomes fixed in there. Fixed ideas automatically express themselves in feelings and actions, until they are replaced. (Fixed ideas are commonly referred to as habits.)

Body—Instrument of the Mind

The body is the physical representation of you, the material medium. It is merely the house you live in.

Here’s why we say the body is the instrument of the mind…

The thoughts or images which you consciously choose and impress upon the subconscious (which is in every cell of your body) move your body into action. And the actions you take determine the results you get in life.

So, it looks like this:

Thoughts → Feelings → Actions → Results

It’s really simple…

To change your results (“R” in the image below), you must choose different thoughts because that changes your feelings and actions.

Now Think About This

As you see in the graphic above, energy is constantly flowing into our consciousness and we get to choose what to do with that energy.

We might choose to think about things that our sensory factors pick up. In other words, we can put our attention on things that are outside of us, things we see, hear, feel, taste and touch.

Or we can use our intellectual faculties to deliberately choose thoughts that are aligned with the results we want—regardless of what’s happening around us. If we impress those thoughts and ideas upon our subconscious mind over and over, we become one with what we want to be, do and have.

As seen below, choosing new thoughts become an idea that will lead to different results.

Here’s How to Use These Graphics to Improve Your Life

Understanding the Stickperson allows you to step outside of yourself and look at how you’ve been using your mind.

You can use your results to look at yourself objectively to see what you are thinking, and which ideas you are getting emotionally involved with in your subconscious mind.

Since the body is an instrument of the mind, it moves into action or behaviors based on those emotionalized ideas. Those actions and behaviors, of course, determine the results you’re getting.

So, observing this graphic and your results helps you determine where you need to make changes.

As you grasp this concept, it becomes clear that the subconscious mind is the power center. The ideas that are fixed in your subconscious mind control your life.

How did those ideas get into the subconscious mind? You put them there.

However, by understanding how your mind works, you’ll recognize that you can transform your life by building and holding a new image that will cause you to be a different person.

When you allow yourself to raise your conscious awareness to the degree that you are one with what you really want to be, do, and have in your life, your life will be transformed. To your success.

The Six Faculties of Your Mind Coaching

Your body is the instrument of your mind. Start paying attention to what your body is doing, where it’s going, and realize the mind operates on two different levels, on a conscious level and a subconscious level.

Now, on a conscious level, we have sensory factors. You can see, hear, smell, taste, and touch. They’re like little antenna sticking out of our consciousness. They are used, as long as you were living in a physical body corresponding with the material universe, you’re going to use your senses.

They are not to give you direction in your life. They help you to see, are you going in the right direction? If you see that you’re not doing as well as you know you’re capable of that’s a message that you should be using your higher faculties, your intellectual mind.

You have intellectual factors. You have perception, the will, imagination, memory, intuition, and reason. No other form of life have these higher faculties so far as we know.

This is such an important fact about our life yet we don’t even know it. This is not taught in school. You’ve got phenomenal powers. When you start using your higher faculties, you’ll know and you know that you know.

MASTER KEY SYSTEM COACHING

The Master Key System is a personal development book by Charles F. Haanel (1866–1949). It was originally released as a 24-week correspondence course in 1912, and then published in book form in 1916.

Each of the 24 chapters contains an introduction, an exercise, and a concludes with questions and answers. The book is a set of lessons that cover a wide range of topics, including the power of thought, the laws of success, and the nature of the universe.

At the core of the book is the idea that the universe is governed by certain laws, and that we can harness these laws to achieve success and abundance in our lives. Haanel argues that by understanding and applying these principles, we can tap into an unlimited source of power and create the lives we desire.

Throughout the book, Haanel explores a range of topics, including the power of concentration, the role of the subconscious mind, and the importance of goal setting. He also offers practical exercises and techniques that readers can use to apply these principles in their own lives.

In 1919, Napoleon Hill wrote a letter to Charles F. Haanel about the influence that The Master Key System had on him. In the letter Hill wrote “I believe in giving credit where it is due, therefore I believe I ought to inform you that my present success and the success which has followed my work as President of the Napoleon Hill Institute is due largely to the principles laid down in The Master-Key System.”

THOMAS TROWARD COACHING

In Bible Mystery and Bible Meaning, Thomas Troward draws out the metaphysical and New Thought implications of Bible stories and verses. Their meaning becomes clear rather than a mystery when he examines the allegorical and spiritual meanings of the texts as well as their literal meanings.

Starting from the premise that man is made in the image and likeness of God, Troward shows that creation and evolution are the same thing. The world is progressing toward higher consciousness, and more and more people are realizing that we have the power within us.

There is one Spirit, and in that one Spirit we live and move and have our being. Thomas Troward was born in the Punjab in 1847. Educated in England, he served for many years served as a judge in the Punjab. On his retirement he returned to England, where he became an active and influential writer on New Thought themes. His Edinburgh lecture series won praise from William James and influenced many others, including Ernest Holmes.

This pioneering book introduces readers to the Law of Attraction and the inherent power of our thoughts and beliefs. Behrend describes the utilization of visualization and affirmations as tools for harnessing this “invisible power.”

The author takes readers on a journey of self-discovery, offering practical steps on how to use this power to create desired life changes. The central theme is the concept that the life one leads is a direct reflection of the thoughts that one sows. It is an inspiring read for anyone looking to understand and apply the principles of manifestation in their lives.

NEVILLE GODDARD COACHING

Neville Goddard explains how to interpret the Bible and break the seals, which are the parables. Neville Lancelot Goddard (1905-1972) was a profoundly influential prophet, teacher, and author. Neville Goddard explains how to interpret the Bible and break the seals, which are the parables.

In his early years, Neville did not associate himself as a meta-physician. Recognized for his teaching methods, he was appointed for biblical teachings with a specialized focus on psychological truth. The aim of his teachings was to restore awareness of the knowledge of the world taught by our ancestors.

Neville Goddard mentored many great spiritual teachers including the great spiritual teacher— Joseph Murphy. Furthermore, he taught thousands of students, delivering lectures on the law of interpretation of the bible.

He was born on 19 February 1905 in St. Michael, Barbados, within the British West Indies. He was the child of a merchant family; Joseph Nathaniel Goddard and Wilhelmina Nee Hinkinson. In a large family of nine boys and one girl, he was the fourth born. In his early years, Neville did not associate himself as a meta-physician.

Recognized for his teaching methods, he was appointed for biblical teachings with a specialized focus on psychological truth. The aim of his teachings was to restore awareness of the knowledge of the world taught by our ancestors.

In 1922 he immigrated to the United States to review drama at the age of seventeen. He worked as a dancer and, in the same period, married his first wife. They had a son together, named Joseph Neville Goddard. However, his first marriage was short-lived, and he remained single thereafter for a decade. On the career front, his paths were shifting as well.

On tour with his dance company in England, he developed an interest in metaphysics after an enlightening conversation with a Scotsman who lent him a series of books on the mind’s powers.

Upon his return to New York, he gave up the show business to devote his full attention to studying the spiritual and mystical world. In the 1930s, Neville met his second wife, a designer by profession. They had a daughter named Victoria.

In 1943, at the age of 38, he was drafted in the U.S. Army. He was not pleased with this decision because he felt that he is too old to be a soldier and knew he had a responsibility to take care of his family.

Through the technique of imagination, as Neville recounted in his March 24, 1972 lecture, he was honorably discharged after a couple of weeks of coaching. Due to the army training, he received U.S. citizenship, having been a British citizen up to the present point. Hence, he was able to manifest his desired situation through the law of attraction.
